Better morning for Aston Martin
After managing just 36 laps yesterday, Aston Martin have had a more productive start to day two.
Fernando Alonso has gone past 50 laps for the morning, gathering some much needed data for Adrian Newey's team.
He remains almost five seconds off the pace, which raises questions as to whether they've got their Honda engine running at full capacity yet.
Sainz: Encouraging start for Williams
After missing the Barcelona shakedown last month, Williams made an impressive start in Bahrain by completing more laps than any other team on the first day.
Sainz told Sky Sports F1: "I think we partially caught up (on Wednesday).
"Obviously, we’re still a couple of days behind by my calculations, but having such a smooth and straightforward day with no issues was an encouraging start to this era for us.
"We did manage to complete everything. We even left some time on the table."
Ferrari, McLaren racking up the laps
With Mercedes and Red Bull still absent, Ferrari and McLaren are getting through plenty of laps.
Both Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris have reached 60 laps for the morning session.
While McLaren did face an early issue in Barcelona, Ferrari have yet to encounter anything that has significantly limited their track time.
We are definitely not trying to jinx them!
